Multimodal Freight Operator Job Overview

My client are a 3rd generation family-owned business with over 30 years of experience within the UK market giving them the knowledge and skills to provide their customers with an excellent service in European road freight, global sea and air freight as well as Customs clearance.

The successful candidate will have good planning and problem-solving skills, be able to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines, and be logical with good organisation skills. They should also be able to work accurately and pay attention to detail and be able to work well under pressure.

Responsibilities include:

• Taking bookings and liaising with customers, suppliers, and other parties
• Coordinate the importation and/or exportation via road and ports.
• Build strong working relationships with transportation/haulage companies.
• Develop and build relationships to ensure a high level of customer service is provided to clients with a knowledge of the client's business requirements.
• Take requests and queries and resolve them effectively and efficiently.
• Using internal systems to create documentation that will enable freight to be moved to customer specifications, on time with all the necessary customs and legal documentation.
• Creating and updating freight bookings.
• Understand Customs documentation and procedures to ensure the freight can move from country to country.
• Collate all documents and distribute them to customers and carriers, as required.
• Accurate & timely reporting.

• Export procedures experience.
• Experience in road freight.
• Experience in booking and arranging of transport with haulage companies nationally and internationally.
• Experience in quoting of clients.
• Experience in the creating, checking and processing of all relevant importation or exportation documentation.
• Good verbal and written communication, to provide a professional image to customers and suppliers.
• The ability to instruct a global network of agents and suppliers.
• The ability to prioritise a large number of tasks to ensure accuracy and deliver results with great attention to detail and a high sense of urgency.
• Daily exposure to TMS, CRM, ERP software as well as MS applications.

• £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year (negotiable depending on experience)
