AA Euro Group are seeking an experienced Appointed Person – Lifting Operations to join a Tier 1 contractor delivering major infrastructure projects across the UK. The successful candidate will play a critical role in planning, coordinating, and overseeing lifting operations in compliance with health, safety, and legal regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement safe lifting plans in accordance with LOLER and BS 7121 regulations.

  • Conduct risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) for lifting operations.

  • Coordinate and oversee crane and lifting activities on large-scale infrastructure projects.

  • Liaise with site teams, crane operators, and subcontractors to ensure safe execution of lifting tasks.

  • Ensure all lifting operations adhere to industry best practices and company policies.

  • Conduct pre-lift meetings and toolbox talks to communicate lifting plans and safety procedures.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of lifting operations, including permits and records.

  • Provide technical guidance on lifting methodologies and equipment selection.

  • Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and assist in audits and inspections.

Requirements
  • CPCS Appointed Person (Lifting Operations) – A61 certification.

  • Proven experience in lifting operations within large-scale infrastructure projects (e.g., highways, rail, energy, or civil engineering).

  • Strong knowledge of LOLER, PUWER, BS 7121, and CDM Regulations.

  • Excellent leadership, coordination, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work in high-pressure environments and make critical safety decisions.

  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites.

Desirable Qualifications
  • SMSTS or SSSTS certification.

  • Experience working with mobile cranes, tower cranes, and heavy lifting equipment.

  • First Aid at Work qualification.
