Long Term Futures are looking for a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to support children with challenging behaviour, ASD, ADHD, and SEMH needs in a mainstream primary school in Aston, Birmingham. This is a rewarding role where you will work one-to-one with pupils to help them regulate their emotions, build confidence, and access learning in a positive and structured environment. For the right candidate, this role has potential to become permanent.

The Role:

  • Provide 1:1 support to children with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and behavioural needs
  • Implement behaviour management strategies to promote positive engagement
  • Work closely with the SENCO, teachers, and pastoral team to support emotional and social development
  • Use de-escalation techniques and structured interventions to manage challenging situations
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning space for pupils

We're Looking For:

  • Experience supporting children with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or challenging behaviour in a school or similar setting
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach to behaviour management
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Understanding of de-escalation strategies, emotional regulation techniques, or trauma-informed approaches
