Haven Care Group are on the lookout for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team within a specialist EBD Childrens Residential Home in the Birmingham area. This role is full time, working shifts on rotational basis from 7.30am to 11pm, with a requirement to complete between 6-8 sleep in shifts every month.

About the Role

As a Team Leader you will be responsible for a range of duties as set out below:

  • Working alongside Manager & the Deputy Manager in Children's Residential Home.
  • Ensuring that our Young People receive the highest standard of support/care appropriate to their individual needs.
  • Providing advice, assistance, and support to Young People, safeguarding their welfare at all times.
  • Ensuring that all risks are safely managed in line with the company policies and procedures
  • Ensuring shifts are planned with Residential Support Workers, to take the lead on shift and be responsible for the events on the shift
  • Attending to Young Peoples practical, physical, and emotional needs and acting as an appropriate role model.
  • Working closely with Young People to enable them to address their difficulties and achieve their optimum potential.
  • Communicating effectively with the team of staff coming onto shift ensuring that a thorough account of your shifts events has taken place.
  • Completing written reports and documentation
  • Setting up, coordinating, and reviewing Care plans, Risk Assessments, Behaviour Management Plans, Health Care Documentation, Agreements, and Incentives.

About You

To be successful as a Team Leader with HCG, you will need to possess the following essential attributes:

  • Minimum Diploma Level 3 or 4 in Residential Child Care (Children and Young Peoples Workforce) or equivalent.
  • 1 year minimum working experience with Young People that may have social and emotional difficulties, or behaviour that challenges.
  • Full UK Manual Driving Licence
  • Ability to work shifts and sleep in the home overnight
  • Experience in leading shifts and overseeing a team of Support Workers
