Long Term Futures is excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic Deputy/Assistant SENCO to join a dynamic secondary school in Birmingham, Perry Barr. If you're passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people with special educational needs, this role is perfect for you.

The Role:

We're looking for an inspiring and dedicated Deputy SENCO to work closely with the SENCO in leading and developing SEND provision across the school. You will play a key role in ensuring that all students with additional needs receive the support they require to thrive academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deputise for the SENCO: Step in when needed to ensure the smooth running of the SEN department.
  • Lead EHCP Reviews: Take charge of reviewing and updating Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Collaborate with Families and Agencies: Work with external professionals and parents to provide tailored support for students.

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience of running and completing paperwork for annual review meetings
  • Experience in reviewing and writing SEN support plans
  • Completing requests for EHCP assessments
  • Previous experience supporting secondary school students with SEN is advantageous
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with staff, students, and external partners.
