A well-established door systems specialist is on the lookout for an experienced Door Engineer to join their midlands based team, reporting into their small but growing Birmingham office. The company operates within a larger group and is a world-leading manufacturer of entrance systems. Despite being part of a larger entity, it maintains a small close-knit team of seven Engineers. This setup provides stability while fostering a familial atmosphere among Engineers.
The package on offer includes a starting hourly rate of up to 18 per hour, overtime paid at 1.5 outside of the hours of 8am-4pm, 33 days holiday, fully stocked company van with personal use permitted, frequent pay reviews, commission scheme, and more.
The role is local, covering Birmingham, Worcester, Coventry, and occasionally extending as far as Northampton. Engineers will be kept within a one-hour radius of their home address.
The position promotes a healthy work-life balance and is not suited for individuals seeking excessive overtime. The company values its engineers and aims to avoid overburdening them, prioritising their well-being.
As a Door Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Servicing, maintaining, and repairing a wide of industrial doors including roller shutters, sectional doors, speed doors, overhead doors, shop fronts, and occasionally loading bay equipment.
- Servicing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of automatic doors manufactured by companies such as Assa Abloy, Record, Geze, Dorma, Stanley, Tormax, Horton, Label, and more.
- Servicing, maintaining, and repairing gates, barriers, and perimeter security equipment
- Fault finding on electrical, mechanical, and electronic equipment.
- Basic electrical wiring.
- Adhering to BS EN 16005 standards.
- Quoting and ordering parts.
The successful automatic door Engineer will have:
- Experience servicing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of automatic and industrial door systems.
- Experience working on gates, barriers, and perimeter security equipment.
- A clean driving licence.
- A CSCS Card.
- Industry tickets such as: IPAF, PASMA, DHF, EN 16005
In return, you will receive a remuneration package which includes:
- Starting hourly rate of up to 18 per hour
- 100 standby fee plus 50 per callout when on call (1 in 6)
- Home-based, door to door pay
- Standard working hours 8am-4pm Monday - Thursday, 8am - 3.30pm Friday.
- Overtime rates paid at 1.5 during the week. 1.5 on Saturdays. 2.0 on Sundays.
- Commission scheme: 2.5% on all products and parts sold.
- All power tools provided.
