Job Title: Education and Early Years Lecturer

Position: Part-Time/Full-Time

Rate: £25p/h - £35p/h including holiday pay

We are seeking an Education and Early Years Lecturer to join our academic team in Birmingham. This role is perfect for a dedicated educator who is passionate about shaping the future of teaching and early childhood education. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality, engaging lectures and practical sessions to students aspiring to become professionals in the field of education and early years.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Deliver lectures and practical sessions in education and early years subjects.
  • Develop and prepare comprehensive lesson plans and instructional materials that meet curriculum goals and objectives.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance to help them achieve their potential.
  • Maintain a safe and conducive learning environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
  • Stay updated with the latest developments and research in education and early years to ensure the curriculum remains relevant.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching methods and expand program offerings.
  • Participate in departmental and college activities, and engage with industry partners to enhance the educational program.

The successful Lecturer will have the following skills and qualifications:

  • Teaching qualification i.e. AET, PTLLS, PGCE, certificate in education
  • Level 3 or equivalent qualification in teaching subject area
  • Extensive professional experience in education and early years, with a comprehensive understanding of pedagogical theories and practices
  • Proven ability to teach and mentor students of varying skill levels
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour
  • Experience interacting with 16–19-year-olds in education or apprentice setting
  • Level 2 or equivalent in English and Maths to adults online
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through Reed Compliance
