We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Quality Assurance to lead our Test Practice. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing our client facing test team, ensuring the achievement of key internal KPIs, including utilisation, customer satisfaction, and employee satisfaction. The ideal candidate will also have experience in pre-sales and running nearshore teams. This hybrid role involves travelling twice a week to meet with clients and to our Solihull offices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the testing team, fostering a culture of delivery excellence and collaboration and putting our clients first.
- Ensure the team meets key internal KPIs, including utilisation, customer satisfaction, and employee satisfaction.
- Own and develop our testing service lines, ensuring they align with industry standards and client needs.
- Participate in pre-sales activities, including client presentations and proposal development.
- Provide expert advice and consultation on testing best practices and methodologies.
- Lead strategic consultative engagements, advocating the critical value and impact of testing within the software development process.
- Be an advocate for best practices, including automation, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and other modern testing methodologies.
- Deputise for the Head of Development as needed.
- Oversee the management and coordination of nearshore testing teams.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the testing practice.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of testing activities within the overall project lifecycle.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- Proven experience in a senior testing role, with a track record of managing and leading teams.
- Experience in consulting and advising on testing best practices.
- Experience in leading strategic consultative engagements and advocating the value of testing.
- Experience in pre-sales activities, including client engagement and proposal development.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead and motivate teams, fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Excellent communication skills to communicate clearly and effectively with team members and clients.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
- Significant experience working with organisations in the financial services industry as part of a consultancy.
- Experienced in managing, developing, and building high-performing delivery teams.
- Excellent senior (CxO level) stakeholder management skills.
