The Position

We are looking to recruit an experienced Multi-Trader with previous experience in a maintenance type role or similar to join our team in Birmingham city centre. This customer facing role will join our aftercare team to assist with a variety of construction and repair works within existing properties in Birmingham.

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Assessing and performing a range of construction and maintenance duties within customer properties.
  • Repairs to dry lining/plasterboard walls, filing sanding and patch repairs.
  • Full decoration works including caulk and mastic application.
  • Basic plumbing repairs/replacement to wastes and traps.
  • Assisting in the replacement of white goods.
  • Adjustments to carpentry items including doors, locks, and kitchen units.
  • Tiling, and other basic maintenance works, all whilst keeping the areas clean and tidy.
  • Using both hand and power tools to complete a variety of works.
  • Working within a team or autonomously to complete allocated tasks.
  • Assessing issues at properties and deciding the best course of action and executing the work required.
  • Assisting other team members as and when required at different sites and completing works in a safe and timely manner.
  • To respond effectively to all defects scheduled by the Aftercare Manager & Supervisor.

The Person

The Aftercare Engineer will have good general construction knowledge, with a good eye for detail and will have previous experience within a similar role. As this position is a customer facing role, good mannerisms and a friendly nature is crucial.

Essential:

  • Proven track record as a Multi-Trader or similar.
  • Reliable and punctual with a good work ethic.
  • Must be able to follow instructions as well as working under their own initiative whilst maintaining safe work practices.
  • A keen eye for detail.
  • Has a thorough understanding of tools and materials used across all trades.
  • Experience in decorations, repairs, and mastic application within modern apartments.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Ability to use a maintenance app to track job progress and report through a tablet or smartphone.
  • Good communicator, capable of effectively managing conflict and solving problems.
  • Work well as part of a team but also autonomously.
  • Relevant up to date H&S qualifications including CSCS.
  • Full driving license.

Desirable:

  • Previous carpentry experience.
  • Ability to perform basic electrical installations and repairs.
  • Previous experience using ClixiFix.
