SEN Tribunal Officer

Rate: £400p/d umbrella Inside IR35Start: November 2025Our client is looking for an experienced SEN Tribunal Officer to join their team on an interim basis until March 2025. Please see below for further details:

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee cases related to special educational needs (SEN) disputes and appeals
  • Prepare comprehensive case files, including gathering evidence and supporting documents
  • Liaise with families, schools, and local authority representatives to collect and validate information for tribunal cases
  • Represent the local authority or educational institution at SEN tribunal hearings
  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers, schools, and other stakeholders regarding case progress, tribunal procedures, and legal obligations
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including educational psychologists, SEN caseworkers, and health professionals
  • Ensure all tribunal documents, decisions, and case notes are meticulously recorded and stored for future reference and compliance purposes
  • Stay updated on legislation, regulations, and policies related to SEN and ensure all tribunal cases

Requirements:

  • To have previous experience as an SEN Tribunal Officer in a Local Authority
  • To have an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation including the SEND Code of Practice
