Sonic Summary
- NMS Recruit is looking for a Senior Fibre Planner to join a thriving ISP, responsible for planning activities in their assigned region.
- The role involves overseeing Fibre Design staff and ensuring cost-effective and fit-for-purpose fibre-optic infrastructure.
- Candidates should have a detailed understanding of civils route planning and fibre planning, along with knowledge of UK regulations.
- The position requires experience in producing industry-standard documentation and a working knowledge of GIS software.
- The salary for this role ranges from £50,000 to £55,000 depending on experience, with a requirement for relevant experience in the field.
Responsibilities
To design suitable civils and fibre optic infrastructure which are cost-effective, fit-for-purpose and, where required, future-proof.
To ensure all fibre records are maintained and updated accurately within their region.
To forecast CAPEX and OPEX requirements of designed infrastructure projects.
To produce detailed industry-standard documentation of that design.
To help develop, implement and champion network topologies.
To drive consistency, quality, suitability, and cost-effectiveness.
Experience
Detailed understanding of all aspects of civils route planning
Detailed understanding of all aspects of fibre planning
Ability to understand and produce detailed industry-standard level of survey, installation, and as-built documentation
Knowledge and understanding of lit fibre services
FTTP methodologies and design
Working knowledge of GIS software, APX, GComms, GE Smallworld or similar.
Full understanding of UK local and national authority regulations in respect to civil engineering works
Driving licence
