Your new companyHays is working with a leading property and construction consultancy with over many decades of experience. They offer a range of services including project management, cost consultancy, building surveying, and CDM advisory. This client is very well known for its commercial awareness and commitment to exceeding client expectations.

Your new roleThis position involves working closely with our experienced CDM team on a large-scale refurbishment program for a well-known hotel brand. Key responsibilities will include coordinating site start-ups, managing CDM documentation (including PCI, CPPs, and Health and Safety Files), and supporting the team in various Health & Safety tasks.Working under supervision, you will:

  • Assist with the preparation of pre-construction information.
  • Review construction phase plans, risk assessments, and method statements.
  • Provide advice to contractors on CDM2015.
  • Set up projects and provide administrative support.
  • Work under direction to assist in the delivery of the Principal Designer duties.
  • Undertake site inspections and monitoring visits to determine health & safety compliance.
  • Ensure projects are completed efficiently and within an assigned resource profile.
  • Support the senior staff as required.

What you'll need to succeed

  • A health and safety qualification, such as a NEBOSH Certificate, desirable but not essential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Background in construction with an understanding of CDM Regulations 2015.
  • The ability to effectively cooperate and engage with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • An approachable and attentive listener, with the ability to communicate diplomatically and assertively.
  • Proactive, professional, and personable.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a car.
