The Role:

The University is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Associate Lecturer to teach and assess on our Further Education (FE) Early Years and Education programmes from Level 1 - 3 including T Level. You will join a committed team of professionals with a range of skills and experience from the Early Years and Education sector, both with experience of teaching FE and working in industry. We are based in central Birmingham with excellent facilities within the institution and around the city. Our team benefits from full use of our Early Years simulation suite with a fully functioning kitchen, baby changing room, sensory room, and nursery area. This allows students and lecturers to work together in an authentic environment, preparing and refining skills for practice.

Some experience of teaching in FE or evidence of coaching or mentoring in a professional setting would be desirable. Evidence of industry experience of working with children and/or young people is essential to ensure credibility within the classroom. You will hold an undergraduate level degree and willing to achieve a teaching qualification supported by the University.

In addition, you will have experience in assessing or an interest in working towards the qualification, as assessing will form part of this role. This will involve visiting students on placement as part of your working week and assessing them against programme criteria. You will be highly organised, with an eye for quality to ensure that our programmes maintain consistently high standards, with the ability to engage our FE students to ensure that they reach their full potential.
