The Role:

The brand-new Department of Psychology at the University will start delivering undergraduate and postgraduate Psychology programmes in September 2024. We are looking to recruit an innovative, student focused, academic to develop curriculum, and help shape the future of the Department. You will be excited by the creative possibilities of this new opportunity and will champion innovation and transformational new programmes that reflect and position graduates with advanced knowledge and skills required for new developments across Psychology.

You will deliver high quality learning, teaching and student support, across the Department, and achieve excellent student experience and outcomes across the programmes. You should be passionate about teaching Psychology in Higher Education, with an appreciation of the diverse application of theory to the real-world. You will have a proven track record working in Higher Education and have experience working with relevant professional bodies to meet their standards in high quality curriculum design and delivery.

This role presents an exciting opportunity for someone with a background in any area of Psychology and our focus is on developing curriculum which helps meet the needs of the workforce and supports our Psychology graduates with achieving strong outcomes.

As a Lecturer, you'll have the chance to play a pivotal role in collaborating with colleagues within a newly formed academic team, to ensure that our students receive an exceptional education and a positive higher education experience. Furthermore, our Lecturers work to further the Department's relationships with relevant employers and to provide imaginative and compelling new approaches to pedagogy that make full use of available technologies.
