Treasurer

Music of Life, a charity that provides specialist music services to disabled and disadvantaged children and young people, is recruiting for the key role of Treasurer to join our active and engaged Board. Our trustees bring different skills to the Board but share a common commitment to making a difference for our beneficiaries, who have complex multiple disabilities and come from disadvantaged backgrounds.

The work of the charity is delivered by highly qualified musicians who are passionate about using music as a tool to unlock potential and help young people find their voice and gain more control over their own lives. Some of our music practitioners have personal experience of disability; all of them have vast experience in working with children with special needs and disabilities in various settings.

Most of the families we support face financial hardship and do not know where to look for qualified musical help. We work with children over several years to build incremental impacts and support them with enhanced vital skills as they become adults. The long-term nature of our activities makes us unique in terms of the depth and quality of our work providing a deeply impactful experience for our young people and a positive ripple effect that can be seen both in their education and in their communities. Please refer to our application pack for more details about our work.
