LTF Recruitment is looking for an enthusiastic and proactive teaching assistant to join a friendly Year 1 class at a primary school in Kings Heath. This is a long-term position with the opportunity to transition into a permanent role for the ideal candidate.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher in planning and delivering dynamic and engaging lessons.
  • Help pupils build essential skills in phonics, reading, writing, and mathematics.
  • Track and document pupil progress, sharing insights with the teacher and parents when needed.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and handle challenging situations in accordance with school policies.
  • Provide emotional and social support to nurture pupils' confidence and self-esteem.
  • Work with colleagues and external specialists to meet the needs of SEN or EAL pupils effectively.

What we are looking for:

  • Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a primary school.
  • Proven experience in supporting children with SEN and effectively managing challenging behaviour.
  • A solid understanding of safeguarding practices and child protection protocols.
  • Familiarity with a range of behaviour management strategies to promote positive outcomes.
