We are seeking an IT Business Analyst to lead the development of new business systems and business process reviews, maximising the use of our key databases. This role involves advising on database implications of business projects, ensuring that programmes and business improvement projects are delivered to the appropriate quality, timescale, and budget.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Work closely with business owners to define project scopes, produce project initiation documents, and engage in initial planning and risk assessments.
  • Translate business needs into well-scoped Business Requirements and Acceptance Criteria, and interpret these needs into IT change requests and projects.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with business process owners, providing advice and managing stakeholder expectations.
  • Define deliverables, resource requirements, and work plans for projects, managing their development and delivery.
  • Lead the design of solutions for the business, including requirements gathering, solution design, and database testing and validation.
  • Conduct post-project reviews to ascertain effectiveness and identify lessons learned.
  • Manage project risks and performance, ensuring projects are delivered on target balancing time, quality, and cost considerations.
  • Develop and manage IT software/supplier/consultancy procurement processes and liaise with IT leaders to support implementation of database changes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Prince 2 project management qualification (desirable) or equivalent project-based experience in IT project environments.
  • Proven experience leading and delivering projects, particularly those involving IT change management.
  • Strong people management skills and experience in performance management within a project and operational environment.
  • Excellent communication skills across various mediums including face-to-face, phone, and email.
  • Ability to think logically with a proven track record in problem-solving and implementing solutions.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Financial acumen and commercial ability in managing resources and planning project budgets.
  • Self-driven and results-oriented with a clear focus on high quality and efficiency.
