My client are are seeking an experienced Senior IT Specialist to join their internal IT team. As part of a small, collaborative group, you will be responsible for handling a variety of technical issues and providing support across all levels. In this role, you will engage in both daily operational support and business projects, ensuring seamless IT functionality and assisting with team goals.
My client are one of the UK's largest handlers of fresh produce and looking to bring on board an experienced Senior IT Specialist into their team based in Birmingham.
The key responsibilities of the Senior IT Specialist based in Birmingham include but are not limited to the following.
- Actively participate in business projects, taking ownership of assigned tasks and ensuring they are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Provide 2nd Line Support for internal IT issues, advancing tickets and escalating when necessary.
- Deliver hands-on support for desktops, laptops, servers, switches, and other infrastructure devices.
- Offer application support to the business, particularly with Windows 10/11, Office 2013 and later versions.
- Provide training and guidance to other IT team members, supporting knowledge-sharing and skill development within the team.
- Conduct account management using Active Directory and M365, maintaining and configuring accounts as required.
- Employ strong analytic skills to conduct data interrogation and manipulation, supporting the business in making data-driven decisions.
- Communicate effectively across departments, keeping stakeholders informed and offering clear explanations for technical issues.
The successful candidate for the Senior IT Specialist based in Birmingham will have the following experience, qualifications and characteristics.
- Minimum of 3+ years in a 2nd Line Support role or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in handling ticket advancement and escalation processes.
- Hands-on experience supporting desktops, laptops, servers, and network infrastructure.
- Familiarity with Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11), Office suite (2013 and above), and ERP systems.
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory and M365 for account management.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Cisco Switch Experience (Desirable)
- SAN experience (Desirable)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
- Full UK Driver's License and access to own transport.
£45,000 - £50,000
40 Hours per week (Monday-Friday 8:00 - 17:00)
25+8 Days Holiday
