Insurance & Asset Procurment AdvisorLocation: Birmingham, UKSalary: £18.90 per hourFull-time: Full-time-Fully office basedDuration: Temporary OngoingRole OverviewWe are currently seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Insurance and Asset Register Officer to join the Procurement and Insurance team. This is a temporary ongoing role, offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to help manage and maintain the insurance asset register while providing essential support across multiple insurance claims. The role involves liaising with stakeholders at all levels, training staff, and helping streamline the insurance claims process for various assets, including motor, property, and health-related claims.Key Responsibilities
  • Asset Register Management: Implement and manage a new system for the Insurance Asset Register, ensuring effective population of the register to support the annual insurance renewal cycle.
  • Claims Management: Oversee Travel, Motor, Public Liability, and Property claims, ensuring timely resolution and negotiating settlements for claims within set thresholds.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Provide training and support to staff at various levels, ensuring correct and consistent use of the asset register and facilitating continuous improvement within the insurance processes.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Collect, analyse, and report on asset data, proactively working with stakeholders to ensure accuracy and quality in data management.
  • Claims Finalization: Work closely with internal teams to reconcile claims, arrange payments, and liaise with insurers and external stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify trends and issues in claims, providing feedback to reduce risk and improve future claims management strategies.
  • Customer Service: Assist and advise students and staff on insurance-related matters, demonstrating a high level of empathy, patience, and professionalism, especially in sensitive situations.
Key Skills & Qualifications
  • Education: Degree level education or equivalent practical experience in a similar role.
  • Experience: Proven experience in a financial or insurance role, ideally in a complex environment. Knowledge of asset management and insurance processes is desirable.
  • Technical Skills: Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office and Core Systems. Proficiency in working with spreadsheets and data analysis.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail, particularly when handling sensitive data.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to manage multiple tasks independently, meet deadlines, and offer creative solutions to complex issues.
  • Customer Service: Strong customer service orientation, with a professional and approachable attitude when assisting staff and students.
