We are working with a dynamic and forward-thinking planning consultancy in Birmingham, looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Town Planner to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled planning professional to contribute to a variety of exciting urban development projects and play a key role in shaping the future of the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert planning advice and guidance on a variety of urban and rural development projects.
  • Prepare and submit planning applications, reports, and statements in line with local authority requirements and regulations.
  • Liaise with clients, local authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Undertake planning appraisals and assessments, identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Contribute to the preparation of planning policy documents and development strategies.
  • Support junior staff members and offer guidance where necessary.
  • Keep up to date with planning legislation, policies, and best practices.

Key Requirements:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Town Planning or a related field.
  • Chartered status (RTPI) or working towards it.
  • Proven experience in a similar planning role, with a strong understanding of UK planning systems and regulations.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • A proactive, problem-solving attitude with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience with relevant software, such as GIS and AutoCAD, is an advantage.
