Job Title: Town Planner

We are working with a dynamic and forward-thinking planning consultancy in Birmingham, looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Town Planner to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled planning professional to contribute to a variety of exciting urban development projects and play a key role in shaping the future of the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert planning advice and guidance on a variety of urban and rural development projects.
- Prepare and submit planning applications, reports, and statements in line with local authority requirements and regulations.
- Liaise with clients, local authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Undertake planning appraisals and assessments, identifying risks and opportunities.
- Contribute to the preparation of planning policy documents and development strategies.
- Support junior staff members and offer guidance where necessary.
- Keep up to date with planning legislation, policies, and best practices.
Key Requirements:
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Town Planning or a related field.
- Chartered status (RTPI) or working towards it.
- Proven experience in a similar planning role, with a strong understanding of UK planning systems and regulations.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- A proactive, problem-solving attitude with excellent attention to detail.
- Experience with relevant software, such as GIS and AutoCAD, is an advantage.
