We are partnered with a global company based in Birmingham as they look to hire a Senior Legal Counsel within their legal team.

Position Overview:

As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will play a critical role in providing expert legal advice and strategic guidance to the business across multiple jurisdictions. You will work closely with the General Counsel, senior management, and various business units to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, mitigate risks, and support the company's growth initiative.

Key Responsibilities:

As part of this role, you will be responsible for managing complex legal matters in a fast-paced environment. Day to day, this could include:

  • Legal Advisory: provide proactive, business-oriented legal advice to senior management and various business units on a wide range of legal issues, including corporate governance, commercial contracts, mergers and acquisitions, litigation, and more.
  • Contract Management: draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts including service agreements, professional service agreements, software, SAAS and more.
  • Risk Management: identify and assess legal risks, develop strategies to mitigate those risks, and ensure that the company's operations comply with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Litigation Management: oversee simple litigation matters, including working with external counsel where required.

Experience / Qualifications:

  • UK Qualified Solicitor with experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of commercial contracts.
  • It would be beneficial to have experience working with multiple jurisdictions.
  • Strong negotiation and contract drafting skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
