We are seeking a dedicated Legal Secretary to provide comprehensive secretarial support to our fee earners. This role is ideal for someone with experience in the Private Client department who thrives in managing a variety of administrative and client-focused tasks. Location: Birmingham City Centre

Salary: £26,000 - £27,000

Monday to Friday (Full time, permanent - Office based)

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide full secretarial support to fee earners, including diary management, document preparation, and client liaison.
  • Handle dictation typing and prepare correspondence, documents, and forms.
  • Assist in the administration of wills, probate, and trusts, ensuring compliance with legal processes.
  • Manage correspondence, filing, and maintaining accurate client records.
  • Handle telephone and email inquiries from clients and external parties efficiently.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven 1-2 years’ experience as a Legal Secretary within a Private Client department.
  • Excellent typing skills, able to quickly and accurately process legal documents from manuscript or digital dictation, with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise a busy workload.
  • Excellent IT skills with the ability to pick up new systems quickly.
  • Displays a can-do, positive attitude to work, and a high degree of self-management.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional telephone manner.
  • A keen eye for detail and a high level of accuracy in all work.
  • Ability to work well both as part of a team and independently.
