A reputable top legal 500 in Birmingham is working with Eclectic Recruitment looking for a Legal Secretary to support the department with secretarial and administrative support working in a fast-paced environment. Job Title: Legal SecretarySalary: £27000 - £30000 Location: Birmingham Job type: Full-time, permanent contractYou will be part of a supportive and collaborative working environment where your contributions will make a direct impact on client service and firm success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the preparation, typing, and organisation of documents and correspondence
  • Provide support to the fee earners and partners
  • Handle the retrieval and management of documents from secure storage and follow procedures for sending originals.
  • Respond to client needs and keep them updated as necessary.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing communications, including post, emails, and fax transmissions.
  • Schedule appointments, arrange meetings, and assist with diary management.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external requirements, such as Lexcel standards.
  • Interact with clients in a professional and friendly manner, both in person and via telephone.
  • Collaborate with team members and assist with work as needed, fostering a supportive and cooperative work environment.
  • Work within administrative systems related to finance, time tracking, bill preparation, and correspondence.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding all company and client information.
  • Understand relevant legal procedures and company protocols.

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience as a legal secretary/secretary, including the use of a digital dictation tool.
  • Computer literacy, with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Able to type at 65 wpm on a regular basis.
  • Excellent attention to detail, including spelling and punctuation.
  • An ability to communicate effectively at all levels, to remain calm and respond well in pressurised situations.
  • An ability to organise own work effectively and plan well to meet required deadlines.
