Imports Manager

A well established, global manufacturing business are seeking an Imports Manager to join their team on a full-time permanent basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a high calibre import professional to join a growing, international organisation.

You will lead the import operations of the business, managing the safe and timely arrival of all imports to the business according to expected timescales and budgets.

Key responsibilities - Imports Manager

  • Plan, monitor and manage all imports and shipments
  • Manage all import documentation
  • Manage negotiations and annual tenders for freight contracts
  • Manage all adhoc inbound multimodal transport
  • Dealing with export documentation when required
  • Ensuring all containers clear customs on arrival
  • Confirm tariff headings and applicable rates of duty
  • Plan containers from port to warehouse, avoiding any charges
  • Manage the annual containerised freight tender

Key requirements - Imports Manager

  • Proven experience in freight forwarding or shipping
  • Demonstrated experience of imports procedures and general shipping documentation and processes
  • Knowledge of UK and international freight regulations and customs procedures
  • Exceptional negotiation skills with experience of managing tenders
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong stakeholder management experience up to C Suite
