Role & Responsibilities
- Perform reactive maintenance on a variety of mechanical machinery across the site.
- Support day-to-day manufacturing processes efficiently while working within a team structure.
- Record and monitor all engineering/production-related issues effectively.
- Troubleshoot problems and propose improvements to prevent reoccurrence.
- Communicate progress and updates with Production Managers and Team Leaders.
- Complete scheduled maintenance tasks as per the maintenance plan.
- Investigate plant and equipment faults, carry out necessary repairs, and document progress within the maintenance recording system.
Requirements
- Time-served Mechanical Engineer with extensive experience in manufacturing.
- Minimum qualifications: City and Guilds Part 1 and 2 in mechanical engineering.
- Strong fitting skills, with proficiency in welding and fabrication, and expertise in hydraulic and pneumatic fault-finding.
- Experience in planned maintenance and continuous improvement/lean manufacturing practices.
- Well-organized, self-motivated, and capable of working to tight deadlines.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
