Our client in the Birmingham area is looking for a new Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for their fun and vibrant team due to continued business growth!

Role & Responsibilities

  • Perform reactive maintenance on a variety of mechanical machinery across the site.
  • Support day-to-day manufacturing processes efficiently while working within a team structure.
  • Record and monitor all engineering/production-related issues effectively.
  • Troubleshoot problems and propose improvements to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Communicate progress and updates with Production Managers and Team Leaders.
  • Complete scheduled maintenance tasks as per the maintenance plan.
  • Investigate plant and equipment faults, carry out necessary repairs, and document progress within the maintenance recording system.

Requirements

  • Time-served Mechanical Engineer with extensive experience in manufacturing.
  • Minimum qualifications: City and Guilds Part 1 and 2 in mechanical engineering.
  • Strong fitting skills, with proficiency in welding and fabrication, and expertise in hydraulic and pneumatic fault-finding.
  • Experience in planned maintenance and continuous improvement/lean manufacturing practices.
  • Well-organized, self-motivated, and capable of working to tight deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
