Admin Assistant in a SEN School in Birmingham

One of our thriving Special Educational Needs (SEN) school is seeking an Admin Assistant to become an integral part of their dedicated team!

Role Summary

As an Admin Assistant, you will play a vital role in the smooth day-to-day running of our school. Your responsibilities will include general office duties, supporting senior staff, and interacting with students, parents, and external professionals. You will be the friendly face of our school, ensuring visitors feel welcomed and that communication flows efficiently throughout the school community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing school communications, including phone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries.
  • Handling school records and maintaining an organised filing system.
  • Supporting with attendance records and student information databases.
  • Coordinating appointments and meetings for school staff and external professionals.
  • Assisting with school events, parent evenings, and open days.
  • Providing administrative support to teaching and support staff as needed.
About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience with database systems (SIMS experience is a plus).
  • A welcoming and professional manner.
  • A strong commitment to confidentiality and safeguarding.

Previous experience in a school or SEN setting is an advantage, but we welcome applications from candidates with a willingness to learn and a passion for inclusive education.
