Anderselite is recruiting for a Plant Coordinator to join our client's team, providing a professional plant and equipment provision service. This role will support construction sites and regional teams by ensuring the efficient and timely ordering of plant and construction equipment. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate documentation aligned with contract programmes, cost plans, and resource schedules, driving cost efficiency while collaborating with internal teams, external suppliers, trade bodies, and construction industry entities.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement
- Communicate with project teams to determine plant and equipment requirements in line with the procurement schedule and contract programme.
- Procure external plant following agreed supplier arrangements, negotiating rates where applicable.
- Support project teams in developing resource plans.
- Ensure all site requirements are actioned promptly.
- Raise hire orders using the ERP system, liaise with site teams, and advise on delivery timing.
- Ensure plant orders are sent to suppliers and sites, filing documents as required.
Health & Safety Compliance
- Ensure all hired plant and equipment comply with health and safety regulations and company standards before dispatch.
- Verify that suppliers provide all necessary safety documentation, including inspection certificates, LOLER and PUWER compliance, and operator manuals where applicable.
- Communicate with site teams to ensure accurate plant usage and adherence to safety requirements.
Dispute Resolution & Supplier Management
- Act as the first point of contact for resolving plant hire-related issues, including delays, incorrect deliveries, or breakdowns.
- Escalate unresolved issues to Senior Hire Controllers where necessary.
- Monitor supplier performance, report recurring issues, and address service failures by recording positive interventions and non-conformances as required.
Key Measures and Targets
- Provide evidence of best value for plant usage, including cost savings, profitability, and efficiency against resource plans.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations for all plant hire.
- Prepare monthly plant usage reports.
