Technician

Technician required, based in the Midlands area. Requiring experience in metallography, hardness testing, macro etching, cleanliness verifications, weld assessments, corrosion testing and SEM/EDS analysis as well as great problem solving skills.

Salary: 25,000- 30,000 (dependent on experience)
Term: Permanent

SRG are currently working with one of the UK's leading materials testing laboratories offering a variety of different testing services to many different industries. The business is now looking for a Technician to join their team. Specialising in failure investigations, assessments, and analysis of materials. Starting ASAP

Role Description

• Carry out testing, analysis of test data, and report findings
• Carry out metallography, hardness testing, macro etching, cleanliness verifications, weld assessments, corrosion testing and SEM/EDS analysis
• Run failure analysis investigations
• Liaise with customers
• Provide technical advice to customers and colleagues.
• Accurately costing jobs for invoicing purposes

Requirements

• Degree in a related field
• Good organisation and communication skills
• Previous experience in a material based company will be advantageous
• Experience in failure would also be beneficial
