We are seeking a Building Services Engineer with expertise in mechanical/electrical services to manage and support our team, ensuring the successful progression of projects. This role involves overseeing drawing production, schematics, and engineering calculations within agreed timescales.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Maintain strong industry relationships and promote the business.
  • Manage projects to stay within budget and schedule.
  • Identify business opportunities and additional fees.
  • Review and enhance the design process in collaboration with process owners.
  • Produce schematics and details in AutoCAD/Revit, adhering to engineering standards and regulations.
  • Conduct engineering calculations and support project reviews for quality compliance.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines and maintain knowledge of engineering standards.
  • Solve engineering problems by seeking additional information from relevant sources.
  • Stay updated with British Standards and industry guides.
  • Liaise professionally with design team members and clients, responding to queries accurately.
  • Attend client meetings and workshops confidently.
  • Provide line management and support to the mechanical/electrical team.
  • Monitor team performance and address issues with directors or HR.
  • Complete timesheets accurately and maintain high professional standards.
  • Ensure continued professional development and manage health and safety effectively.
  • Maintain commercial confidentiality and adhere to company policies.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent in Engineering (mechanical/electrical).
  • ACIBSE certification.
  • Minimum 5 years of practical design experience in building services engineering.
  • High-level working knowledge of CAD/Revit.
  • Familiarity with UK mechanical/electrical design standards.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to multitask with attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication at all levels.
  • High level of professionalism.
  • Flexible and resilient with a 'can do' attitude.
  • Team-focused with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to client sites.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business travel (desirable).
