A great opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Engineer to join a leading fenestration and façade systems specialist in the UK. You will be providing support to partnering fabricators for the installation and operational maintenance of company supplied machinery and equipment across UK. As a Mechanical Engineer you will also ensure the effective transition of the customer from point of sale to service provision through to machine upgrades and replacement.
Mechanical Engineer Position Remuneration- Starting salary of £40,000 - £45,000

- Collaborate closely with other departments to ensure a seamless customer experience from sales opportunity to machine commissioning.
- Support machinery sales by arranging quotations, installations, servicing, repairs, and replacement parts.
- Conduct pre-delivery machinery and workshop inspections, reporting all observations, conclusions, and recommendations to ensure smooth installations.
- Coordinate pre-delivery activities, ensuring that third-party services, equipment, Risk Assessments, and Method Statements are in place.
- Perform the installation and commissioning of new machinery in accordance with current EU and UK legislation.
- Demonstrate machinery functionality and instruct designated operators on proper use and safe operation, complete a formal handover, and obtain customer sign-off.
- Advise on appropriate maintenance requirements and prepare, promote, and secure post-warranty agreements.
- Conduct preventative maintenance, error detection, breakdown, and repair services, while maintaining relevant records.
- Coordinate the provision of spare and replacement parts through the machinery department in Bielefeld.
- Monitor and assess machinery faults and software queries to ensure timely resolution by support teams.
- Identify and facilitate the supply of machinery parts to customers for breakdowns or servicing.
- Promote and assist in the installation of software upgrades, as well as machinery upgrades and replacements.
- Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with company policies, ethically, effectively, sustainably, and efficiently using company resources.
- Industry recognised qualification and certificated NICEIC approved.
- Established competence in machinery servicing, preferably from controls background with mechanical experience.
- Basic understanding and competent working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Experience of machinery control and network software.
- Applicant must be based in the Midlands
- Role requires frequent travel (national and international) and some overnight stays
