Our client is seeking an experienced Principal Highways Design Engineer to join our Birmingham team. In this role, you will manage the design process for various projects, ensuring timely, high-quality designs that meet budgetary and client needs. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver designs within programme and budget.
- Manage resources and ensure efficient task allocation.
- Oversee project budgets, ensuring financial accountability.
- Serve as the main contact for clients and stakeholders.
- Ensure designs comply with MCHW, DMRB, and relevant guidelines.
- Check and authorise design information and reports.
- Collaborate with Milestone's Senior Management on projects across offices.
- Encourage innovation and continuous improvement within the team.
- Adhere to Health & Safety legislation, including CDM Regulations.
Essential Requirements:
- Strong management skills and ability to oversee a varied workload.
- Solid technical skills and experience in highway design environments.
- Proven project management of highway projects.
- Experience mentoring and supervising design staff.
- Working knowledge of DMRB, Civils 3D, and MicroDrainage software.
- Experience developing highway contracts and dealing with technical issues at a senior level.
- Chartered Engineer status (preferred).
- UK driving licence.
