We are working with a leading facilities management company to recruit a Mechanical Technician (Water) to join their team at Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Role Overview:

As a Mechanical Technician (Water), you will be responsible for the planned preventive maintenance (PPM), testing, and breakdown maintenance of water systems across the estate. You will work closely with the wider maintenance team to ensure all services meet compliance standards and contractual KPIs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform water system PPM, testing, and maintenance.
  • Work Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:00, primarily at the Retained Estate, with potential duties at the Mental Health unit and Acute Hospital.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, health & safety policies, and statutory requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date records and logbooks for inspections.
  • Support emergency corrective actions to ensure continuity of service.
  • Assist with system operations, performance reports, and equipment recommendations.
  • Work with tower scaffolding, MEWPs, ladders, and confined spaces after appropriate training.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Essential:
    • NVQ or City & Guilds Level 2 in Heating/Ventilation/Plumbing
    • Legionella/TMV/Disinfection awareness and training
  • Desirable:
    • NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 in Heating/Ventilation/Plumbing
    • Previous experience in a healthcare environment
    • HTM 04 RP/CP training
