We are currently seeking an experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join on a 3-month locum contract. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist to contribute to the rehabilitation and discharge planning of older adult patients in a dynamic healthcare setting.

The role is ideal for someone with experience in older adult inpatient care and a good understanding of the Discharge to Assess process. If you’re ready to make a difference and have the necessary skills, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assessment & Treatment: Carry out comprehensive assessments of patients’ functional abilities and deliver therapeutic interventions to support recovery.
  • Discharge Planning: Lead the Discharge to Assess process, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and timely discharges.
  • Multidisciplinary Teamwork: Collaborate with nurses, doctors, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to provide holistic patient care.
  • RIO System: Use the RIO electronic health record system to document assessments, treatment plans, and outcomes (experience desirable).
  • Access Visits: Conduct home visits to assess patients’ living environments and ensure they are suitable for discharge (a valid UK driving license and access to a car is preferable).
