About the Role:We are seeking a highly organised and proactive School Administrator to join our team in South Birmingham. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with strong administrative skills and experience in a school environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the school's administrative functions, supporting staff, students, and parents.
Key Responsibilities:- General Administration: Provide comprehensive administrative support to the school, including handling phone calls, emails, and correspondence.
- Attendance & Punctuality: Maintain and monitor student attendance records using SIMS, producing reports and liaising with parents/carers as needed.
- Safeguarding & Compliance: Ensure accurate record-keeping of safeguarding documentation and maintain confidential student files in line with school policies.
- Reception Duties: Act as the first point of contact for parents, visitors, and staff, providing a friendly and professional service.
- Finance & Procurement: Assist with placing orders for school supplies, processing invoices, and managing petty cash where required.
- HR & Recruitment Support: Maintain staff records, coordinate recruitment processes, and assist with DBS checks.
- Event Coordination: Support the organisation of school events, parents' evenings, and training days.
- Data Management: Update and maintain SIMS and other school databases to ensure accurate student records.
- Communication: Draft letters, newsletters, and announcements for parents and stakeholders.
- Previous experience in a school administration role (essential).
- Proficiency in SIMS and other school management systems (desirable).
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- A proactive and professional approach with strong communication skills.
- Understanding of safeguarding and GDPR regulations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
