Flourish Education are currently recruiting for a SENDCO to work in an Ofsted rated ‘Good’ Primary school near Alum Rock to join their staff team. They understand the importance of staff wellbeing and provide appropriate practical support where necessary.
Our client wants to appoint a dedicated SENDCO to be part responsible for SEN provision across the school. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of Primary teaching and learning to support colleagues in lessons and move on graduated approaches to learning and support / scaffold for SEND children.
This SENDCO role is to start ASAP and will continue until the end of the academic year. It also has potential to continue to next academic year too. This position is a job share so will be part time, 2 or 3 days per week.
Required Skills and Experience for this SENDCO role:
- Previous experience as a SENDCO or as a SEN Teacher who has supported a SENDCo before
- Experience working with children with SEN
- Excellent knowledge of SEND provision and experience in writing action plans for children
- Attend meetings with Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and other staff
- Strong interpersonal skills with parents, pupils, staff and other agencies
- Knowledge of primary teaching / learning to support in lessons
- Leading meetings with staff
- Liaise with external agencies to support pupil’s needs
- Provide guidance to staff regarding pupil support
- Build strong relationships with the pupil, parents and staff
- Commitment to the role
