We are exciting to be partnering with a really impressive and growing manufacturing business near the Birmingham Airport for some exciting project recruitment! This role here is a Payroll Project Officer, where we need someone to help with the day to day processing of the payroll, while also supporting on a range of projects that are coming up over the next few years.

This role is starting as a fixed term contract for 12 months, however this is only because this permanent role is expected to change so much with all the exciting projects over the next 12 months, so the business want to give the person the opportunity to stay on board at the 12 month mark.

Ideally we are looking for this role to start as soon as possible so please only apply if you are immediately available or on a short notice period.

Key responsibilities:

  • Maintaining accurate and complete payroll records.
  • Processing end to end payroll.
  • Calculate and process pay adjustments on a timely basis.
  • Processing statutory payments.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies in payroll records.
  • Weekly review of clock in-clock out system and reporting any differences.
  • Manage the holiday and absence system, ensuring that all records are accurate and complete.
  • Processing & uploading of overtime and time lost data.
  • Process pension information on a timely basis and ensure all liabilities are settles.
  • Working on a range of projects, such as:
    • Implementing a new payroll system.
    • Collaborating different internal systems to ease in payroll processing.
    • Improve processes by implementing different tasks.
    • Any other exciting improvements that you can think of - they are wanting someone to bring ideas to the table!

Candidate Attributes and Skills:

  • Have prior payroll experience, ideally this needs to be end to end.
  • Be strong on excel, knowing V-Lookups, Pivot tables, etc.
  • Be immediately available or on a short notice period.
  • Be open to taking on an exciting opportunity that plans to convert to permanent!
