   **About the role** 

A School Administrator plays the first line of contact for Teachers, Visitors and Parents alike during the school day. You will be responsible for providing dedicated support to the School Business Manager and Teachers with any administrative tasks they need completing during the busy school day. This includes the upkeep and maintenance of staff/student files, assisting with HR, booking appointments, contractual changes, processing paperwork, general admin and monitoring staff/student absences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greeting visitors to the school, signing in and out, issuing visitor information. 
  • Administration for on-site, off-site and after school activities. 
  • Operation of the computerized School Information Management Systems (SIMS) and Arbor  
  • Providing direct support as and when request by the Executive Head Teacher / School Business Director 
  • General administration tasks – Use of Excel, Word, Photocopying, Emailing 
  • Dealing with delivered goods, checking delivery notes, processing orders. 

Requirements

  • Understand of strict GDPR rulings when dealing with sensitive and personal information 
  • Proven experience working in a busy school office environment 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) 
  • GCSE or Equivalent Maths and English 
  • Must be computer literate 
  • DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one through Connex Education 
  • Previous School Information Management Systems (SIMS) experience 
  • Ability to cope well in a busy environment and work well under pressure 
  • NVQ 2 or equivalent in Business and Administration (would be desirable)
