We are looking for a candidate who has extensive experience in compliance within the financial services sector, particularly in insurance. Your deep understanding of the UK financial sector regulation framework and compliance will help the organization manage risk and remain compliant with the FCA and other relevant regulators.

Key Responsibilities as a Compliance Officer:

The key responsibilities of a Compliance Officer include, but are not limited to:

  • Development, implementation and maintenance of compliance policies, procedures and frameworks for the entire business
  • Leading regular audits and reviews of our business processes and policies to ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations
  • Dealing directly with regulatory bodies like the Financial Conduct Authority
  • Monitor any changes to the rules and regulations and update our policies to ensure compliance
  • Working across all departments to ensure that they are compliant
  • Training all departments and providing support on all issues to do with regulation and compliance
  • Leading and managing a KYC and sanctions screening officer
  • Overseeing the client onboarding process, including KYC, anti-money laundering and sanctions screening, ensuring that all flagged cases are scrutinised further
  • Reporting directly to senior management
  • Report writing and dealing with relevant third parties like reinsurers
  • Ensure company standards and values are implemented at all times

About You:

The key skills and qualities of a Compliance Officer are:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in compliance within the financial services sector or insurance sector
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of the UK financial regulatory framework including the FCA is essential
  • Experience in anti-money laundering, KYC, sanctions and PEP screening is essential
  • Leadership skills and ability to work with all departments
  • Excellent report-writing skills
