Senior Bid Consultant Bid Writer

The Opportunity We are looking for talented, experienced bid writers, with the drive, enthusiasm and tenacity to join our Bid Writing team as a Senior Bid Consultant. As a Senior Bid Consultant, you will be responsible for helping our clients across a range of sectors, to develop winning tenders, helping to challenge, shape and drive their solution in support of our vision: Challenging strategic work winning norms to transform the success of our clients. You will share learning and best practice across the EiB team to continually improve the EiB Way, accelerate innovation and help our clients to succeed. Our in-house team of over 40 work winning consultants are led by Professional Heads who are committed to achieving our mission: To invest in our people to develop talented, multiskilled teams with the competencies and behaviours to achieve exceptional client outcomes. You will work within a dynamic company across a range of sectors with diverse teams, led by Strategic Bid Consultants, to secure exciting, iconic projects for our clients.

Sectors include but are not limited to:

  • Highways
  • Rail, including high-speed rail
  • Utilities
  • Facilities Management
  • Local Government
  • Health
  • Renewables and Energy
  • Defence
  • Nuclear

Location: EiBs Bid Hubs are in central Birmingham, Edinburgh and Dublin. We offer a flexible working model aligned to our clients needs and expectations, combining office and home working and on-site support at client locations throughout the UK and Europe.

The role will involve:

  • Challenging strategic work winning norms to transform the success of our clients
  • Working closely with EiBs Heads of Divisions (Work Winning, Major Projects and Complex Projects) to ensure you maintain an awareness of what matters most to the sectors and clients we serve
  • Supporting early engagement with our clients to build effective capture plans and develop strong and convincing value propositions ahead of each opportunity
  • Working closely with our Strategic and Senior Bid Consultants to ensure our clients and their Subject Matter Experts understand the priorities of the commissioning client and challenge the developing solution
  • Building captivating and compelling content for each response, within each unique client team, by taking a bottom-up approach to developing content, strategically aligned with the commissioning clients scope
  • Constructively challenging our clients developing solution to strengthen the bid, bringing cross-sector learning and fresh ideas
  • Participating in all appropriate progress meetings from the launch/bid kick-off through to the successful completion and close out
  • Coaching and developing the wider Bid Writing team, including our Graduate Bid Consultants
  • Supporting Business Development by identifying future opportunities within existing and target sectors
  • Committing to your ongoing professional development to stay at the leading edge of strategic work winning support.

In return we offer a competitive remuneration package:

  • With a salary of up to £60,000 based on values, skills, and experience
  • Participation in the Groups annual performance bonus scheme based on company and personal performance
  • Group retirement savings scheme (5% contribution from yourself, and 4% contribution by EiB Group Ltd)

About you

You will share our values and commitment to transforming the performance of our clients. As a strong team player, you will recognise and embrace the benefits of working collaboratively with colleagues to help shape the future direction of the business. You will have direct experience in a senior writing capacity e.g. in a professional services/consultancy environment; or in a Tier 1/2 major construction, contracting or maintenance environment. You will have supported your company and/or clients to develop technical responses, adept at addressing the relevant elements of the commissioning clients scope, works information and evaluation criteria. You will be confident and assertive and have a passion to capture information and detail from technical specialists. You will have a track record of building strong and lasting relationships with internal customers and/or external clients and providing support to strong, motivated teams.
