Specification Technologist 10mth FTC

• Covering a maternity leave this specification technologist role is ideal for an individual with experience gained from the UK food industry

The role:

• Reporting into Technical and Quality Manager the Specification Technologist 10MTH FTC will update and maintain detailed product specifications to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements, customer expectations and company standards.
• The Specification Technologist 10MTH FTC will ensure that all product specifications are supported by validated claims such as nutritional, health, allergen etc
• In the role the Specification Technologist 10MTH FTC will ensure that all labelling reflects specifications and complies with labeling regulations and legal requirements
• Based on site the Specification Technologist 10MTH FTC will support on internal and external audits ensuring product information and documentation are audit ready and compliant.

Ideal candidate:

• Degree in food science, food technology or a related field
• Must have UK experience as a specification technologist gained from the UK food industry
• Must have a strong knowledge of food composition, basic nutrition and allergen management and awareness.
• Ideally HACCP level 2
• The ideal candidate will have strong organisational skills and take a proactive approach to their work.
• Experience in audits and an up-to-date knowledge of EU and UK food legislation
• Strong project management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines are key.
• Proven ability to manage data accurately and efficiently

Benefits & details:

• £32,000 pro rata plus pension
• Based on site in Birmingham with occasional travel
