Are you a chartered Town Planning Director in the Birmingham/Midlands market wanting to play a key part in our ambitious growth strategy? Do you have a proven track record in securing and delivering planning projects across the region? Have you lead and mentored teams and have a keen eye for identifying and pursuing opportunities for growth? If so, we would love to hear from you.
We are looking for a Town Planning Director to join our Birmingham office. Conveniently located within the heart of the city centre it has easy access to public transport, including being a short walk from New Street, Moor Street and Snow Hill Stations. Town Planning works in collaboration with a host of other disciplines including Design/Masterplanning, Landscape, Transport, Engineering and Environmental specialists. You will be joining one of the largest planning teams in the city who are delivering projects ranging from residential, mixed-use, commercial, industrial and employment through Development Plan promotion and planning applications and appeals. There is significant opportunity for further growth in Planning across the Midlands region. We are therefore looking to appoint a Planning Director to play a key part in the growth strategy of the office, developing and delivering opportunities and building on its success to date.
About you
Given the scale of the opportunity, you will be a chartered Town Planner operating at Director level (we may also consider an experienced Associate Director) with excellent technical Planning skills and a commercial mindset. Setting ourselves apart from our competitors and being leaders in our class is fundamental to our growth strategy, we are therefore looking for knowledge and experience gained from within the Birmingham/Midlands market and likely from a competing consultancy or private sector organisation.
You will ideally have experience of Local Plan Examination hearings, planning appeals and inquiries. We would consider applications from various sectors within Town Planning that compliment or add to our existing areas of expertise. The leadership team and the wider Birmingham planning team will offer a highly supportive approach and integrate you into devising the business development strategy for the region. You will play a key role in leading and mentoring the team.
We believe that it is our people and their individual talents that make us special. We work within a friendly, inclusive, and supportive culture and one of high support and high challenge, where we are not afraid to take on new and greater responsibilities and are each individually encouraged to grow and flourish both personally and professionally, with genuine career opportunities based on merit. We create a working environment that offers flexibility, adopting a hybrid approach to agile working and offer a wide range of benefits including a generous pension scheme, life assurance, private health care and a flexi-benefits package allowing you to choose benefits that are truly valuable to you, including the opportunity to buy and sell holiday.
