Portfolio Repair Surveyor
Location: Surrey/Hybrid
Rate: 570 per day (Umbrella)

We are seeking a Portfolio Repair Surveyor to join a Local Authority in Surrey on a hybrid basis.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct property inspections, diagnose common defects, and oversee contractor work.
  • Deliver planned maintenance programmes and manage void property turnaround.
  • Prepare basic construction drawings and draft specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant building regulations and best practices.
  • Monitor budgets and ensure cost-effective repairs and maintenance.
  • Advise on leasehold service charges, including consultation requirements for qualifying works (Section 20).
  • Assess housing conditions using HHSRS and implement necessary risk management measures.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain a customer-focused approach.
  • Work independently and proactively to resolve technical and operational challenges.
Essential Skills & Experience:
  • Strong knowledge of repairs, maintenance, and schedule of rates.
  • Experience in property maintenance within housing, including inspections and contractor supervision.
  • Comprehensive understanding of construction methods, materials, and statutory requirements.
  • Ability to manage budgets and deliver projects on time and within cost constraints.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills with an ability to influence decisions.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Qualifications:
  • Higher-level technical qualification (e.g., HND/C in Building Surveying or a relevant subject) or equivalent experience.
