As they expand their operations, they are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join their Birmingham-based team.
Job Description:
We are looking for a talented Quantity Surveyor, on behalf of our client, with a passion for civil engineering and highways schemes. You will play a pivotal role in managing all costs related to their highways projects, ensuring they maintain high standards and deliver projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing cost estimates and budgets for highways schemes.
- Monitoring and controlling project expenditure.
- Conducting risk, value management, and cost control.
- Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
- Administering NEC contracts and resolving any contractual issues.
- Liaising with clients, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Preparing and analysing cost reports.
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 2+ years in Quantity Surveying, ideally within civil engineering or highways schemes.
- Education: Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of NEC contracts, excellent analytical and numerical skills, and proficiency in relevant software.
- Attributes: Detail-oriented, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
