Blue Arrow are recruiting for an experienced Catering Supervisor to work with our client in the Birmingham area.

This is a permanent position with an immediate start available.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
? To be responsible for the preparation, cooking and service of food ensuring that efficient and economic use is made of all resources and the highest standards of hygiene and food safety are maintained.
? To be responsible for ensuring the kitchen and kitchen practices comply with all current catering legislation.
? To plan, operate and control the production and service of food related duties. To devise set programmes of work for catering staff and to supervise the work of catering staff on a daily basis to ensure all staff working in the kitchen and dining hall know & understand their roles and responsibilities.
? To order all food goods and other commodities required from the recognised suppliers in accordance with the catering requirements of the school and to the agreed school catering budget.
? To operate and control food stock to include maintaining stock records and ensuring the correct completion and submission of all appropriate returns and records.

Desirable Skills
? Candidates must be capable of developing and implementing a range of creative and innovative ideas to continue to further develop our home cooked catering provision.
? You will have a good working knowledge of managing special diets to ensure our pupils with dietary needs can be provided for.
? You will be motivated by a passion for quality coupled with the highest standards in food production, presentation and service.
? You must be able to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of practical cooking in a large-scale environment, budget management experience and good IT skills.
? You must have supervisory management experience and be able to lead a team, demonstrating good leadership and motivational skills to other members of the catering team. You must be capable and motivated to mentor and develop your catering team.
? Effective communication skills with an emphasis on customer care are essential, as is the ability to work and lead as part of a team.


Salary:
£20,650 - £25,533 (pro rata)
32.5 hours per week
Term time only
