Appointed Person Lifting Coordinator

My client is seeking a skilled and experienced Lifting Operations Supervisor to oversee and manage complex lifting operations and support project administration for a high-profile civil engineering project. This is a pivotal role requiring strong leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to safety and excellence.



Key Responsibilities

Assumes responsibility for the efficient, timely, and accurate completion of site/project functions.



Operational Oversight

  • Direct and supervise lifting operations and operator activities, ensuring timely and accurate project completion.
  • Oversee field operations, lift planning, maintenance scheduling, and engineering activities.
  • Monitor workflow, crane scheduling, and service delivery to meet deadlines and quality standards.
  • Develop and review method statements, ITPs, construction processes, and quality control documents.
  • Ensure compliance with performance, safety, and environmental standards.


Project Coordination

  • Maintain effective communication with project teams, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide support to engineering, procurement, and operational departments.
  • Track project activities and maintain detailed daily logs, reports, and time sheets.
  • Participate in client meetings, pre-lift briefings, and site management activities to determine project requirements.


Client and Stakeholder Relations

  • Act as a key point of contact for clients, ensuring project objectives are met professionally and cost-effectively.
  • Chair site meetings and communicate project updates effectively.
  • Identify and resolve issues that could impact project timelines or client satisfaction.


Safety and Compliance

  • Uphold health and safety regulations, ensuring all activities align with project-specific safety management plans.
  • Investigate incidents, report findings, and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain records required for the CDM Health and Safety file.


Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree or higher qualification in a numerate or engineering discipline (HNC/HND acceptable with significant experience).
  • Proven experience in a Crane Coordinator or similar safety-critical role on large civil engineering projects.
  • Demonstrated success in project delivery, leadership, and team motivation.
  • Proficiency in planning, scheduling, and reporting tools.
  • SMSTS qualification and valid CSCS card.

  • In-depth understanding of crane operations, NEC contracts, and health and safety legislation.
