Business Development Manager - Midlands - Up to 35,000 plus commission

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join our client to expand their time-critical logistics services.

As Business Development Manager, you will identify new business opportunities, manage client relationships, and drive revenue growth through innovative sales strategies.

The successful candidate will join the business as a Business Development Manager which will lead to a Branch Manager opportunity based on KPI based performances.

Job type: Permanent

Hours: Monday to Friday - Standard offices hours

Salary: Up to 35,000 plus 20% commission and car allowance/company car

Holiday allowance: 25 days plus bank holidays



Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Lead sales presentations and close deals.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends.
  • Develop targeted strategies to capitalize on new opportunities.
  • Refine go-to-market plans for new client segments
  • Manage key accounts and ensure satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to meet client needs.
  • Resolve any client issues related to time-critical deliveries.
  • Set and achieve sales targets.
  • Monitor performance and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Report on sales activities and market developments.
  • Lead negotiations and finalize agreements.
  • Draft and review contracts, ensuring compliance.
  • Work with legal and finance teams to finalize contracts.
  • Promote the company at industry events.
  • Collaborate with marketing on promotional materials.
  • Increase brand awareness and attract new clients.

Experience needed:

  • Minimum of 3 years in business development in freight forwarding
  • Proven track record in driving sales growth and managing relationships.
  • Valid UK drivers licence
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Proficient in CRM tools and MS Office.
  • Previous experience in urgent logistics or time-critical delivery is a plus
