Zest Education is currently searching for a dedicated History Teacher to join our team of passionate educators full time from January 2025 (or earlier if possible). Based in Kings Heath, the school values inclusivity and strives to create a dynamic learning environment where students can explore the rich tapestry of history. With a broad and diverse history curriculum, the school has ensured that their lessons are inclusive and engaging, meaning that the histories of the world are learned in a conscientious and meaningful way.

You should have a passion for teaching and believe in sharing best practices to inspire and motivate others. You must hold a valid UK QTS and want to be part of a developing team that works together to strive.

Key responsibilities:- Plan and teach engaging lessons that motivate the students in your subject and cater to the needs of diverse learners- Mark and assess students work and track student progression- Have excellent curriculum knowledge that continues to develop with the advances in the subject - particularly the new and engaging ways to teach History as the subject continues to evolve.- Have strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.

To apply for this role, you will need:

  • QTS - Qualified Teacher status in History (ECT’s, formerly known as NQT’s, are encouraged to apply)
  • Excellent subject knowledge of History in Key Stages 3 (KS3) and 4 (KS4) is essential
  • Excellent behaviour and classroom management skills
  • A strong school reference from your recent employer/placement

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
