Long Term Futures is seeking an experienced HLTA or a highly skilled Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in B42, Birmingham. This role focuses on supporting SEN students, ensuring they receive the tailored guidance needed to thrive in a mainstream setting. As a HLTA, you will lead small group interventions, provide targeted 1:1 support, and assist with lesson planning and delivery. You will also take on class cover responsibilities during PPA time, working closely with teachers to maintain a high standard of education for all pupils.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver structured 1:1 and group interventions for SEN pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
  • Provide in-class support, adapting activities to meet individual learning needs.
  • Lead planned lessons during teacher PPA time.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers and SENCO.
  • Encourage engagement and interaction for children with additional needs, promoting inclusion.
  • Assist with literacy, numeracy, and social development interventions.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A HLTA qualification (preferred) or Level 3 STL with significant experience.
  • Experience working in a primary school setting.
  • A strong understanding of working with SEN pupils, particularly those with ASD, ADHD, or speech and language needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
